I always felt like my friendships went by like leaves in the wind, but I have realized it wasn’t them who were leaves in the wind, it was me.

I always thought I’d be ok with being a kind of loner. I didn’t mind it, and sometimes I enjoyed it. But I have found that what I was missing was companionship, a true group of friends, and I regret that I figured this out in the last months of my high school career.

At least there’s hope for college.

And yet, maybe I’m destined to be the leaf.
